What was the show in the 90s during sunday morning cartoons that featured a caveman?

The caveman ate a lot, and after eating got really strong. The plot of the show was he would go around trying to find these blob creatures throughout history that would get powerful and become things or enable the caveman to do special things. It was on like Fox kids or something. I remember it being on around Digimon.
