I'd like to find out what the life of an Irish tailor was like in the 19th century -- any suggestions?

I am interested in finding out as much as possible about what life was like in the 19th century for tailors in Ireland, particularly County Monaghan -- including: did tailors typically live in cities and towns, or did they also live in rural settings; what was their social standing; how affected would tailors have been by the famine; etc. Thank you for any and all information or suggested sources.
