If I plant zucchini and cubers close together, will they cross-pollinate?

I planted zucchini and cubers really close to each other, and the zucchinis look weird. They have a hook on them. The cukes look kind of funny too, like large hooked dill pickles. I did this one year with different melons and squash and got a bunch of unedible weird looking crap. HELP!!!
